Museums inspire the future … that’s this year’s motto for the International Museum Day. The present, in turn, inspires museums to open up new spaces for themselves and for you.
You can find the folder (in German) with the participating museums and galleries here.
Referring to the exhibition “Quite Best Friends. August Macke and Hans Thuar,” we are circling the topic of friendship on International Museum Day: A video (published on our Instagram channel and homepage) invites you to creatively design a poetry album page for a friend. Do you remember how concentrated and lovingly you prepared your entries and wrote them in the booklets entrusted to you?
If you like, you can send the designed page by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, in order to win a prize. Or you can send us your favorite poetry album verse by mail or via Instagram (@edwinscharffmuseum) to take a part in the competition.
Museum director Dr. Helga Gutbrod and trainee Charlotte Thon will also present their favorite works from the exhibition “Quite Best Friends” in two short films on Instagram and on our homepage, which will be published on International Museum Day.

At 3 p.m., “Hausmeister Fink” (played by Nicole Demel) tells how he understands the painter Ernst Geitlinger and what connects him personally with the artist. He will be supported by art historian Kristina Baumann (in German).
